this is a sad day for us in pittsburgh / although i live in the suburbs, the neighborhood of squirrel hill is a part of my life and my family’s \ this is where we regularly go to eat good chinese food, where we browse and shop for craft jewelry, where we watch limited-run movies, where we discover bands during the street festival / this where i get old vinyl, where i got my mandolin repaired, where my long gone wedding photography studio used to be / where many good friends and their children live \ the tree of life synagogue is where a good friend & his family worship / so this horrific hate crime is jolting \ i did not think this could happen to us in pittsburgh but sadly it has hit home

i got a tan <and a bronze> today \ beautiful and sunny one moment, torrential rain the next / what can you say? it’s hoto! \ good luck to our high school rowers in hoto day 2 tomorrow!
the two friends exchanged presents as they met up to start fall semester / to their amazement, each had created a portrait of amy winehouse in their own artistic styles \ right there and then they declared amy jade winehouse as a symbol of their friendship / a quaint vignette of a college friendship
